David received his Master of Physical Therapy in 2003 from Howard University. Since then, he has practiced in more than 18 venues of rehabilitation delivering care spanning from the original Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital for our soldiers in the intensive care and orthopedic units to patients in post-rehabilitation programs in a specially designed gym for Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore. Where else? David has delivered therapy at National Rehabilitation Hospital, Doctor’s Community Hospital, Laurel Regional Hospital, Maryland General Hospital, a number of skilled nursing facilities and in patient’s homes for post-hospitalization transition. David’s choice to be in community practice was driven by the increasing demand from patients and physicians to catch musculoskeletal and neuromuscular issues before they exacerbate into greater problems requiring pharmaceutical, injection or surgical intervention.
David is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and has served as the Director of Reimbursement for the Maryland Chapter from 2013 to 2017. David is also a CHT, Certified Hand Therapist, graduating from the Drexel University’s Certificate of Advanced Practice in Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation. He is certified through the HTCC, Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
Prior to his education in physical therapy, David received a Bachelor of Business Management (1995) and Bachelor of Health Sciences (2000). His professional background, character and commitment to serve are structured by his education and experiences in hospitality management, R.O.T.C, and fitness endeavors. His interest to pursue the profession in physical therapy and rehabilitation was driven by assisting a dear friend through the recovery of a multiple level spinal fracture suffered from a motor vehicle accident; a lesson in the value of your body, for David, learned the easy way.
David is certified in the management of myofascial pain and the skill of Dry Needling, a skill unique to a handful of therapists in the United States and an incredible adjunct to traditional interventions of physical therapy. He is also a certified Lymphedema Specialist by the Klose group. Prior to his licensing as a therapist, David has held licenses in massage therapy in Maryland and Washington DC. His particular clinical interests are conditions of the shoulder, spine and hip that require mobilization and manipulation of joint, nerve and muscle tissue. If you are scheduled to be evaluated and treated by David, expect a customized program of hands-on, manual therapy and a methodical exercise program.
Michael Robinson, PT, DPT, OCS, CMTPT, CCTT

Dr. Robinson received his Bachelor of Science from Howard University in 2010. In 2013, he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Robinson is also a residency-trained physical therapist via the Orthopedic Residency Program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
A board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS), Dr. Robinson is credentialed by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) and is an orthopedic section member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Dr. Robinson is also an APTA-Credentialed Clinical Instructor who has mentored physical therapy students from Temple University and the University of Maryland.
Dr. Robinson currently serves as an adjunct professor in orthopedics with the Howard University Doctor of Physical Therapy program and is a native of White Oak, Silver Spring, MD. Dr. Robinson attended Springbrook High School in the mid-2000′s and loves the ability to give back to the community he comes from.
Dr. Robinson has authored published articles pertaining to the management of lower extremity injuries in active adults and the management of individuals with low back pain. He also has interests in dry needling, muscle energy, mechanical diagnosis and treatment (MDT), and specializes in the management of temporomandibular dysfunction making him uniquely capable to help people with chronic headaches, neck and/or jaw pain.
Aminata Fountain, PT, DPT, CMTPT
Dr. Fountain earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2007 and Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree in 2011 from Howard University. She served as president of the physical therapy class from 2008-2009 until the birth of her second child. Motivated by her passion for the profession and aspiration to be a great role model, Dr. Fountain’s strive for success earned her spot in the Division of Allied Health Honor Society and was presented with the Perseverance Award.
Post professional, Dr. Fountain has successfully completed advanced training in the assessment and treatment of myofascial trigger points and is certified in dry needling. She has also received specialized training for pelvic floor pain and dysfunction. Dr. Fountain additionally has training in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and therapy for patients with lumbar spine derangements and dysfunctions.
Dr. Fountain has practiced in a women’s health physical therapy facility treating patients with pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence and other women health related dysfunctions. Dr. Fountain has also practiced in skilled nursing treating patients ranging from young adults to the geriatric population with a wide variety of neurological, autoimmune, post-operative and orthopedic diagnoses. Currently, Dr. Fountain’s preferable practice venue is in the private sector working with diverse age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics with sport, orthopaedic, neurologic, post-operative and women’s health-related conditions.
Dr. Fountain is currently working towards her certification in sports and women’s health. She can relate to female athletes/weekend warriors returning to a sport following childbirth or other women health-related conditions. She understands the challenge between nurturing your family and nurturing yourself. Her desire is to empower both women and men to make lifestyle changes that will strengthen their overall well being. She is dedicated to delivering evidence-based treatment and keeping current with the world’s continuous changes in medicine. Dr. Fountain believes, “You are what you do and you are what you don’t… choose your path.”
Calvin J Baxter, DPT, CDNT
Dr. Baxter has been a practicing physical therapist for over 13 years and is enthusiastic about helping his patients achieve optimal wellness and thorough education on the behavior and nature of their condition. He was selected to be a part of the State University of New York at Buffalo’s first doctoral-level physical therapy program from which he graduated in 2004 and his bachelor of science in exercise science in 2000. Dr. Baxter applies his eclectic style of practice to meet the unique needs of his patients. Effective manual therapeutic techniques that he integrates into his treatments including dry needling, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization and massage. This along with his background in exercise physiology, health and fitness allow Dr. Baxter to deliver great cocktails of therapeutic intervention to his patients. Dr. Baxter also has over 10 years of leadership, management and health care administration experience to include community outreach, public relations and networking. He enjoys mentoring new therapists, instructing students on collegiate and high school levels and has served as clinical faculty at Howard University, Hampton University, Loma Linda and Marymount Universities. Dr. Baxter is a fitness enthusiast and in his free time he enjoys strength training and running. Dr. Baxter is a Montgomery County resident, happily married and has 2 children.
Sukhada Kulkarni, MSPT
Dr. Rand obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology at Colorado Mesa University in 2008. She went on to the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences and completed a Master of Occupational Therapy degree and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree as part of their duel degree program. While completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy she completed coursework for the University of Saint Augustine’s manual therapy certification.
Sukhada completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Seth G.S. College and KEM Hospital of Mumbai, India, in 2015. As a part of her clinical skill development, during this internship at the Government hospital in India, Sukhada treated patients with orthopedic, neurological and cardiopulmonary disorders in a variety of age groups. Her constant urge to excel as a professional, thirst for knowledge brought her to United States where she enrolled in a 2 years Master of Science in Physical therapy Degree Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. During her entire time at Mass General, Sukhada completed a directed research project under the supervision of a senior facility member. The paper is under work for publication.
Sukhada moved to DC metro area in 2017 and worked at an outpatient orthopedics and Sports therapy center for 2 years. She treated young athletes with sports injuries, post-operative patients and helped them achieve their functional goals and improve their quality of life. This experience helped her become a confident young professional with great hands-on skills. She desires to improve her expertise in the field of orthopedic physical therapy with further education. Apart from studies, her other hobbies include dancing, finding new places to hike, traveling and yoga. Sukhada believes, “Happiness consists in giving and serving others.” With a strong foundation in physical therapy, clinical experience with patients in both India and the US, kind & empathetic nature and valuable ethics & morals, we are very proud to have Sukhada at our facility since 2019.
Jorge L. Gomez, OTR/L, MS, CHT
Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist
Jorge graduated from Florida International University in 2014. His hard work and high achievements granted him the recognition and was awarded to become a member of Pi Theta Epsilon (PTE) specialized honor society for occupational therapy students and alumni. He developed a passion for the Upper Extremity and has been practicing in the field of orthopedics upon graduation. He attends National Upper Extremity Conferences in addition to medical journal forums of ASHT (American Society of Hand Therapists), to provide the most efficient and innovative treatment for his patients. Jorge grew up in Miami, FL, and enjoys outdoor sports and spending time his family.
Nick Poulus, PTA

Nicholas Poulos earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Frostburg State University in 2006. Following graduation from Frostburg State, he entered the health and fitness industry as a Certified Personal Trainer. This provided him the opportunity to gain valuable experience by developing programs to address his client’s goals, correct muscular imbalances, and improve overall well-being. He quickly discovered that Physical Therapy was the best way to line up this passion as a career. Nicholas graduated from Montgomery College’s Physical Therapist Assist program with an Associate’s in Applied Science degree in 2016.
Nicholas has worked in outpatient physical therapy since 2009, allowing him to blend his knowledge of performance training and corrective exercise to create unique treatment plans. He is thrilled to continue his career with this team and truly has a passion for providing high quality, evidence-based treatment to all his patients. He intends to pursue future career options in the field by becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy, while continuously adding clinical specializations to further his growth and knowledge. Nick currently has completed specialized training in Manual Trigger Point Therapy, Evidence-Based Manual Therapy and Self Care techniques. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Orthopedic Section of the APTA.
Outside of the clinic, Nicholas enjoys spending time with family and friends, competing in triathlons, obstacle course races, and practicing various forms of strength training.
