Our Approach

At White Oak Physical Therapy and Pain Management Center, our physical therapists will work one-on-one with you to customize treatments according to your needs. We use a variety of highly-skilled techniques to release tight tissues, accelerate tissue healing, relieve pain, and restore proper posture and alignment. The most commonly used therapeutic techniques/modalities are:

Manual Therapy:

To help relieve pain and dysfunction. We use techniques such as dry needling, joint mobilization, muscle energy technique (MET), myofascial release (MFR), strain-counterstrain (SCS), soft and deep tissue massage, and stretching.

Pain Management:

To relieve pain and restore normal function. We use moist heat, cryotherapy, ultrasound, phonophoresis, iontophoresis, electrical stimulation, dry needling, and soft tissue massage.

Therapeutic Exercises:

To improve movement and restore proper muscle balance. These exercises include strengthening, muscle activation, balance, core stabilization, and stretching to restore range of motion.

Postural Correction:

To restore proper posture and alignment. Education includes postural exercises, movement re-education, muscle energy technique, and McConnell and Kinesio tape.
